"The Woodcutter", real name Gideon Lesglant, is a inpromptu spy working for the Ministry of the Occult. He joined the Ministry to save his sister (a certain Mademoiselle Lesglant) who was kidnapped and held hostage by the said organisation. His mission was to steal the Memento Box of Jupiter Roget hidden in Beelzebub's Skull.

"The Woodcutter" was forced to work as a spy for the Ministry of the Occult because they kidnapped his sister as hostage. Therefore, he took the mission: to retrieve the Memento Box.
